Available for Adoption
Philomena came to us last November after she was found lying in a road in Nashville, severely injured. She had a shattered back leg and dislocated front leg, and multiple broken ribs. Doctors predicted that her leg could not be repaired with surgery. We opted to splint the shattered leg and hope for a miracle. With much tlc from a wonderful foster home and the care of a great doctor, she has spent over four months recuperating and healing, and is now cast-free and walking and running. She is a miracle and very dear to our group and supporters who have watched her progress and pulled for while she recuperated. She is obviously a strong, determined dog, but she is also a ray of sunshine, and thus far has loved every person and animal sheâs come into contact with, and withstood a lot of discomfort and hardship with tail wags and cuddles. She is about 9 years old, a very happy and feisty nine years old, and we think she will be a great companion for someone for years to come. Because of her injuries, we have certain requirements for her forever home. She must live in a level home without steps inside, or steps going to the yard (ramps to the yard are ok). She must also remain on quality joint supplements for the rest of her life. She must have a fenced yard where she can run and play freely, and her forever family must commit to keeping her healthy and trim. Philomena is a gem, and all of us involved with her are in love. We will make no exceptions to any of our requirements for her. She has been fostered with an awesome family who own their own grooming boarding facility in the Knoxville area, and they have offered free grooming and boarding for her as needed for life with her new family. Do you want to adopt this special girl? Please apply now. She will be ready to go to her forever home in a few weeks.
